Instrumental Ensembles

San Diego State University offers a number of outstanding instrumental ensembles that present many opportunities for aspiring musicians, whether you are interested in career as a professional performer, a music educator, or simply looking to continue playing your instrument in a large ensemble. The mission of the San Diego State University ensembles is to provide an environment that promotes performances of the highest quality music. The goal of these performances is to foster the highest level of music-making, music learning, and musical experience for performers and audience alike, creating an environment in which teachers, performers, and concert goers share in the promotion and furtherance of instrumental music.

This is an exciting time of change for us at SDSU. With new faculty, new initiatives, and a renewed vision for the advancement of music at SDSU, we are striving to create one of the most comprehensive music ensemble programs in the country.

SDSU student musicians at all levels of ability and interest are invited to join the SDSU ensembles family. We offer auditioned ensembles that represent the finest musicians at the university as well as non-auditioned groups that include a number of music majors and non-music majors. No matter what your experience level, there is an opportunity for you to keep music an integral part of your life while at SDSU!
